Terms of Use
Updated 19 October 2026
These terms apply when you use pteacademicsociety.com. By using the website, you agree to them, so please read them.
Who runs this website
PTE Academic Society is a business name registered in Australia. The business is run by a sole trader based in Tasmania, under ABN 30 823 395 826. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that business, and “you” means anyone using the website.
PTE Academic® is a registered trademark of Pearson. PTE Academic Society is an independent coaching practice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by Pearson.
General information, not migration advice
We mention visa subclasses and English requirements to help you choose a target band. Requirements change, and they can depend on your visa and your circumstances. Check them with the Department of Home Affairs, your migration agent or your education provider before you act on them.
Exam information
We check every exam fact on this website against Pearson and the Department of Home Affairs, and we show the date we last checked it. Pearson sets the format, scoring and fees of PTE Academic. The Department of Home Affairs sets the scores each visa requires. If our pages ever differ from theirs, their information is the one that applies, so check the official source before you book an exam or lodge an application.
The score checker
The score checker compares the scores you type in with the published Home Affairs minimums. It is a comparison, not a prediction of your result or an assessment of whether you are eligible for a visa.
No guaranteed scores
We do not guarantee any score, result or visa outcome. Your result depends on things outside our control, including your starting level, the practice you do and how you perform on the day. We do not publish pass rates. Results on this website belong to real students who gave us permission to share them. They show what those students achieved, not what you will achieve.
The free diagnostic
The diagnostic is free and does not commit you to anything. What we tell you in it is our professional assessment of your current level, given with care. It is not a prediction of your exam result. If we need to reschedule a diagnostic, we will contact you.
Coaching and prices
You can purchase our coaching packages through Stripe's hosted checkout. Each package is paid in full at purchase and includes 6, 8 or 10 private one-hour classes, according to the chosen plan. All classes must finish within 45 days of payment. After paying, you receive a private email link to choose each time and confirm all remaining classes together. Bookings require at least 15 minutes' notice, and we keep a minimum 10-minute gap between appointments. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.
Prices on this website are in Australian dollars and are the full amount you pay. We are not registered for GST, so we do not charge GST.

You may use this website for your own study and to learn about our coaching. You must not:
- copy our content in bulk, republish it or sell it without our written permission;
- try to access parts of the website or our systems you are not meant to, or interfere with how they work;
- send harmful code, spam or automated form submissions;

We may change, pause or remove parts of the website, for example to update exam information or fix a problem.
Our content
The text, lessons, articles, design and logo on this website are protected by copyright and belong to us, unless we say otherwise. You may read them, and print or save pages for your own study. Any other use needs our written permission.
PTE, PTE Academic and Pearson are trademarks of Pearson. We use them only to name the exam we prepare students for.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as those of Pearson, the Department of Home Affairs and the OAIC. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse a website.
Your rights as a consumer
Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including that we provide them with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees, or any other right you have under a law that cannot be excluded.
If you have a problem with our service, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also get help from Consumer, Building and Occupational Services Tasmania (https://www.cbos.tas.gov.au) or the consumer protection agency in your state or territory.
Liability
We work to keep this website accurate and available, but it provides general information. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it is always complete, current, free of errors or online.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the general information on this website, including indirect or consequential loss. This does not limit any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal information you give us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Changes apply from the date we publish them and do not change the terms of any coaching you have already paid for.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Tasmania, Australia. Any dispute about them will be heard by the courts of Tasmania or the federal courts of Australia. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not take away any protection that the law where you live gives you.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
